Taylor Studios partnered with director and photographer Daniel Malikyer of MGX Creative to produce a cinematic short film for Fujifilm, shot entirely on the X-H1 in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
The film explores the deep cultural roots of Brazilian street soccer and how the sport continues to unite communities across the country.
Fujifilm X-H1 & XF 8-16mm
Working closely with Daniel, we traveled through Rio’s neighborhoods to capture authentic moments of street soccer — from pickup games in the favelas to aerial perspectives overlooking Christ the Redeemer. Using the FUJIFILM XF 8-16mm f/2.8 lens, we were able to shoot dramatic wide-angle footage, including dynamic sequences from a helicopter that showcased both the scale of the city and the intimacy of the game.
The resulting film blends documentary storytelling with cinematic visuals, highlighting how soccer serves as both an art form and a unifying force within Brazilian culture. This project allowed us to combine high-end production with genuine cultural immersion, creating content that feels both visually striking and deeply authentic.
